CYCLE
OF LIFE TEACHING MODEL
Traditional
lifestyles and culture of the Omushkego Cree evolved
in relation to seasonal cycles and lunar phases of the
moon. The Omushkego Cree Cycle of Life Model attempts
to demonstrate in an illustrative and tangible fashion
how the seasons and lunar phases impacted the lifestyles
and defined the culture of the Omushkego Cree.
The
Model reinforces cultural identity by validating the
uniqueness and origin of the Omushkego Cree Culture,
Language, traditions, family principles and values.
It is an education instrument which accurately demonstrates
the Omushkego Cree lifestyle and promotes re-culturalization
of our member First Nation communities. |
