NAN Governance and Education Jurisdiction:
Phase 2 of NAN governance and education jurisdiction activities was completed March 2010. NAN is now making preparation for Phase 3. Phase 3 is final phase of negotiations with NAN and Canada on the final agreement which include fiscal agreements and implementation plans. Community consultation is expected to take place in all participating NAN communities. To date, Chapleau First Nation is the only community that has submitted a band council resolution as a participating community. The rest of Mushkegowuk First Nations are in various stages of agreement to the NAN governance and education process.
