Condolences for the Family of Late Greg Koostachin and the Community of Attawapiskat

2022-04-11 | political office

It is with love and great sadness that Mushkegowuk Council sends our condolences to the family and many friends of Gregory Koostachin, and especially to his beloved wife, Mary. Greg was a long time supporter and elder/advisor to the Mushkegowuk Council of Chiefs and Mushkegowuk leadership. His friendly and supportive manner and wise words made him a welcome part of many meetings. His expertise and experience in economic development benefited many Mushkego members, his home community of Attawapiskat and other Mushkegowuk First Nations. We mourn his loss and also celebrate his amazing life and achievements.

A well-respected leader and elder from the Attawapiskat First Nation is now on his spiritual journey with his Creator – God. For over 30 years, Gregory served on many regional organizations as a board member and advisor. Gregory’s wisdom, dedication and kindness will definitely continue to make our Nation stronger in the coming years.

Our prayers and thoughts are with your family and we take this opportunity to say “Gitchi-Meegwetch Gregory” in the spirit of kindness, humbleness, and love, I bring these messages on behalf of the Mushkegowuk Chiefs and Omushkegowuk.
