Mushkegowuk Council is governed by the Council of Chiefs, representing the seven First Nations, plus the Grand Chief and Deputy Grand Chief. Both the Grand Chief and Deputy Grand Chief are directly elected by the citizens of the Mushkegowuk First Nations. Mushkegowuk Council is accountable to members through the Council of Chiefs and through the Mamowihitowin, the Annual Assembly of the First Nations with representatives including Chiefs, Councillors, Elders, Women and Youth.
