SUBJECT: KEEWATINOOK ALCOHOL ABUSE PROGRAM

WHEREAS most social problems in our communities stem from the excessive use of alcohol and drugs, and;

WHEREAS our people do not wish to leave their families in order to obtain treatment in a southern centre, and;

WHEREAS a feasibility has been conducted through a Steering Committee comprising of our communities.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT this Assembly fully supports the establishment of a treat­ment centre as proposed by the Keewatinook Alcohol Abuse Program.
