SUBJECT: WINTER ROAD IMPROVEMENTS

WHEREAS the winter road between the communities of Fort Albany, Kashechewan and Attawapiskat is inadequate for safe transport of goods and services by vehicles, including trucks;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the winter road from Fort Albany to Attawapiskat be rerouted to an inland route and that the swampy section between Moosonee and Fort Albany be rerouted;

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT in the future the winter road from Fort Albany to Attawapiskat be maintained in better condition than at present.
