SUBJECT: TRADITIONAL WATERFOWL HUNTING GUIDELINES

WHEREAS the James and Hudson Bay First Nations have pursued the exercise of traditional guidelines for the hunting of waterfowl;

AND WHEREAS it is important for the exercise of self-government that these traditional guidelines be clarified;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Mushkegowuk Council and other NAN First Nations, in consultation with Elders, work toward written guidelines for the hunting of waterfowl based on the traditional practices.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT these traditional guidelines not be used as articles for negotiations.
