MUSHKEGOWUK COUNCIL ASSEMBLY RESOLUTION

RESOLUTION NO. 1989-81

SUBJECT: ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT/COMMUNITY SERVICES

Acting Chief Frank Archibald New Post Band

WHEREAS the New Post Band's reserve is located 15 miles from the town of Cochrane;

Chief Edmund Metatawabin

Fort Albany Band

AND WHEREAS the members of the New Post Band do not have ready access to reGreational and shopping services;

AND WHEREAS there is a severe shortage of employment possibilities on the New Post Reserve;

Adopted by consensus

Certified copy of a Resolution adopted on: February 23, 1989

AND WHEREAS the construction and operation of a community store and recreation complex would provide employment opportunities and would provide ready access to shopping and recreational services for the members of the New Post Band;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Mushkegowuk Council supports the efforts of the New Post Band to obtain a community store and recreation complex.
