RESOLUTION NO. 1989-94

SUBJECT: CHRONIC CARE PAYMENTS

WHEREAS medical care, including chronic care, is a right of the Mushkegowuk people and was one of the promises made upon the signing of Treaty No. 9;

AND WHEREAS some of the Mushkegowuk people, particularly our elders, have been forced to pay for chronic care;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Mushkegowuk Council demand that the practice of charging any of its people for chronic care be stopped immediately;

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Mushkegowuk Council demand that any of its people who have been charged for chronic care be reimbursed without delay.
