SUBJECT: WILDLIFE: HARVESTING & CONSERVATION

BE IT RESOLVED THAT we recognize that our Treaty and Aboriginal Rights are the foundation for any discussions on harvesting and conserving wildlife;

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT we reserve the right to reject or support any agreements proposed without the consent of our general membership through community referenda;

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT any discussions of these matters must address the issues of pollution and habitat destruction;

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Mushkegowuk Council be authorized to explore and report to the next Assembly on the feasibility of establishing a Tribal Conservation Authority and recommendations be formulated in consultation with each First Nation.
