RESOLUTION NO. 1989-116

SUBJECT: SAFETY AND PROTECTION OF OUR CITIZENS

WHEREAS the Mushkegowuk Council is seriously concerned about the current level of fire safety and protection services provided to our citizens;

AND WHEREAS the fire loss statistics for our communities reveal that a crisis situation exists in terms of lives and property loss;

AND WHEREAS construction materials and practices currently do not meat fire safety standards due to lack of training and funding;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Mushkegowuk Council seek funds to provide training programs for trade people involved in the construction of our homes to make them aware of safe construction practices.
