SUBJECT: KASHECHEWAN LOCAL GOVERNMENT STRUCTURE

WHEREAS the Kashechewan First Nation is in the process of Self-Government;
WHEREAS the purpose of Self-Government is to make the Kashechewan First Nation strong and secure;

WHEREAS the Kashechewan First Nation is tied to the Department of Indian Affair's laws, guidelines and regulations;

WHEREAS the Kashechewan First Nation members are having a difficult time coping with the federal and Ontario laws and guidelines and regulations;
WHEREAS the Kashechewan First Nation wishes to develop its own administration guidelines and policies to meet the needs of its community Band members;
WHEREAS the Kashechewan First Nation has a local Government structure in place to
meet the needs of its community members;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Assembly acknowledges and supports the local government structure for the benefit of

the community of Kashechewan;
FURTHERMORE, be it resolved that the Kashechewan First Nation request the Mushkegowuk Council to provide advisory support in developing the same.
