MUSHKEGOWUK COUNCIL

SUBJECT: MOOSE FACTORY ISLAND POLICING

WHEREAS the Moose Factory First Nation encounters jurisdictional responsibility daily in policing services, due to the land status on Moose Factory Island;

AND WHEREAS the Moose Factory Island policing services are not consistent and do not meet the needs of Moose Factory Island residents;

AND WHEREAS Moose Factory First Nation, Mocreebec and Moose Factory Local Services Board have appointed a working group to design and implement a Moose Factory Police Unit;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Mushkegowuk Assembly supports Moose Factory First Nation in this initiative.
