MUSHKEGOWUK COUNCIL

SUBJECT: PATIENT TRANSPORTATION

WHEREAS the Mushkegowuk Council is committed to the improvement in the provision of health care services and programs in the Mushkegowuk area;

AND WHEREAS direction was given under Resolution No. 1989-82 to support community efforts in obtaining ambulance services for the communities of Peawanuck, Attawapiskat, Kashechewan, Fort Albany and New Post;

AND WHEREAS it continues to be difficult for all involved to expedite the resolution of this continuing lack of an essential health service;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Mushkegowuk Council continue to support the efforts of all First Nations in their attempt to obtain essential ambulance service;

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Mushkegowuk Council lobby on behalf of Mushkegowuk First Nations to the federal government to assist in the process of obtaining ambulance service.
