Subject: Kashechewan Training Institute

WHEREAS the Mushkegowuk communities of western James Bay are desirous to manage and control their own training institute for technical, academic and management developments to promote local self determination, business and technical expertise;
WHEREAS the Mushkegowuk member communities do not presently manage or control their own training institutes for their people;
AND WHEREAS Kashechewan First Nation is also desirous and wishes to share the location of certain self determination project initiatives with its fellow First Nations in such cases as the requested training institute which is being planned for the community of Kashechewan;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Kashechewan First Nation be supported by the Chiefs and delegates of this Assembly gathered here in New Post on August 20, 21 and 22, 1991, to proceed with plans to begin the needs assessment, design and development and finally, the implementation ofthe Kashechewan Training Institute;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Kashechewan First Nation will keep its fellow First Nations of Mushkegowuk Council informed on all developments of this project.
