SUBJECT: FULL COMMUNITY ELECTIONS

WHEREAS the issue of having full community elections for a Mushkegowuk regional leader has been discussed for a number of years;

WHEREAS a discussion paper titled "Towards Community Control of the Mushkegowuk Council" has been presented at the 10th Annual General Assembly;

WHEREAS the discussion paper on full community elections outlines guiding principles and a process which will lead to full community elections for a Mushkegowuk Grand Chief;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Council Board of Chiefs, staff and all Mushkegowuk First Nation communities work toward making full community elections for a Mushkegowuk Grand Chief a reality by November 1996.
