RESOLUTION NO. 1996-08-06

SUBJECT: NORTHERN AIR STAGE PROGRAM

WHEREAS Indian & Northern Affairs Canada and Canada Post Corporation have initiated a Northern Air Stage Program to address the high cost of living in the north;

WHEREAS the subsidies being provided are not being realized by the consumer living in our northern communities as confirmed by the food baskets priced in our communities;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Council be directed to further investigate how the benefits are being realized and to explore the possibility of this program being administered by the Council or the communities.
