RESOLUTION NO. 2002-09-03

REMOVAL OF GRAND CHIEF

WHEREAS there have been escalating concerns surrounding the accountability and performance of the present Grand Chief, and;

WHEREAS the constitution of the Mushkegowuk Council recognizes that the Grand Chief is accountable to the Board of Chiefs and recognizes the power of the Board of Chiefs to suspend the Grand Chief, and;

WHEREAS the Board of Chiefs recently suspended the Grand Chief as a result of these concerns, and;

WHEREAS the constitution of the Mushkegowuk Council recognizes the power of the Assembly to terminate the term of the Grand Chief.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Chiefs and delegates in Assembly tem1inate the tenn of the current Grand Chief by a vote of non-c-onfidence effective September 10, 2002.
