WOMEN'S REPRESENTATION ON BOARDS AND COMMITTEES

WHEREAS there are a number of corporations and boards affiliated with Mushkegowuk Council providing regional services in the Mushkegowuk Territory, and;

WHEREAS it is important that the views and needs of Mushkegowuk women are represented fairly on these corporations and boards.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Chiefs in Assembly recognize and respect the effo1is of women to ensure that issues of concern to women are addressed, and;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Chiefs in Assembly recognize the autonomy of First Nations to make fair and appropriate appointments to regional boards and corporations and leave it to the individual First Nations to make their decisions regarding appointments to regional boards.
