RESOLUTION NO. 2002-09-20
WEENEEBAYKO HEALTH AHTUSKAYWINDIABETESPROGRAM
WHEREAS the Weeneebayko Health Ahtuskaywin (WHA), in its mandate to preserve and enhance the health care services in the region, and;
WHEREAS the Diabetes program currently administered under the auspices of WHA, through resources received from Northern Health Diabetes Network and the Aboriginal Diabetes Initiative, and;
WHEREAS the Nishnawbe Aski Nation (NAN) also receives funding resources from Aboriginal Diabetes Initiative to provide diabetes program services to the NAN communities in the north, and;
WHEREAS the communities of Peawanuck and Mocreebec are not included in the resources WHA receives for Aboriginal Diabetes Initiative, and;
WHEREAS the WHA desires to provide a comprehensive program for all its members, who so desire to participate, and;
WHEREAS this resolution in no way prejudices the community to pursue this effort on an individual basis, and;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Assembly support the Weeneebayko Health Ahtuskaywin in their efforts to secure the necessary regional financial resourcing to
