Certified copy of a Resolution passed on September 12, 2002

WHEREAS Oshki-Pimache-O-Win has been established by the Nishnawbe Aski Nation (NAN) Chjefs and delegates in assembly to represent all NAN communities regarding post secondary education and trairung, and;

WHEREAS Oshki-Pimache-O-Win was allocated the full amount of morues originally identified for Indian Student Support Program in the amount of $500,000, and;

WHEREAS these funds are no longer available to Mushkegowuk Council or its First Nation commw1ities in support of ongoing development and implementation of post secondary programs and training, and;

WHEREAS Oshki-Pimache-O-Win recently held its first Ammal Meeting to provide a report to the membership of NAN, including nomination and election of a Board of seven (7) Governors, and;

WHEREAS there was no official invitation to Mushkegowuk Council to attend the recent Annual Assembly of Oshki-Pimache-O-Win and participate in the nomination of a representative from the Mushkegowuk TeITitory for potential election to the Board of Governors, and;

WHEREAS this has effectively prevented Mushkegowuk as a Tribal Council member of Nishnawbe Aski Nation from being directly involved in the cwrent development, structure

and programming of Oshki-Pimache-O-Win, and;

WHEREAS Omushkego Institute desires to partner with Oshki-Pimache-O-Win by being invited to the Annual Assembly to participate in the nomination and election process of Oshki-Pin1ache-O-Win' s Board of Governors, including cost sharing in the development and implementation of post secondary education and training programs within the Mushkegowuk terTitory.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Chiefs and delegates in Assembly direct the Grand Chief to infonn the Board of Governors of Oshki-Pimache-O-Win to insh·uct its Executive Director to communicate directly with Omushkego Education regarding the business of the Board, including cost sharing in the development and implementation of post secondary education and training programs.
