MUSHKEGOWUK ELECTION PROCEDURES AMENDMENTS

WHEREAS the Mushkegowuk Council has an endorsed set of election procedures for the election of a Grand Chief and Deputy Grand Chief;

WHEREAS the current Election Procedures have certain sections that require clarity and other sections that require redrafting to reflect current realities;

WHEREAS concerns have been raised from time to time whereby the Election Procedures need to be made clearer to allow fair and equal access to all First Nation members to participate in electing our political leaders.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that this Assembly endorses the establishment of an Election Procedures Working Group to solicit comments on the redraft of the election procedures and to develop a revised draft for consideration at a duly convened Special Assembly in early 2004.
