DIABETES PROGRAM SERVICES
WHEREAS the Weeneebayko Health Ahtuskaywin (WHA) has a mandate to provide, preserve and enhance health care services in the region;
WHEREAS the Diabetes Program is currently administered under the auspices of WHA through the resources received from Northern Health Diabetes Network and the Aboriginal Diabetes Imitative;
WHEREAS the delegates in Assembly have expressed their concerns with the current level of community visits and services for their community members suffering from diabetes and related complications;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Chiefs in Assembly supports the affected communities' efforts to have WHA prioritize in having the health care needs of their members suffering from Diabetes addressed specifically in having a Diabetes Educator in the communities and in increasing the current visits of relevant medical personnel.
