Investigation into Kashechewan Health Service Levels

WHEREAS it is the responsibility of Health Canada to provide adequate and accessible health services within established communities; and

WHEREAS the people of the community of Kashechewan have constant and serious frustrations about the level and methods of health services in their community;

WHEREAS deaths occurred in Kashechewan in the past which some suggest were related to the level and nature of health services provided within the community;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Assembly request Health Canada for funding to undertake an investigation into the level and nature of health services in Kashechewan, including consultation with community members with experience in accessing health services.
