Resolution No. 2004-09-18

Regional Social Services Conference

WHEREAS there is a continuing need in the Mushkegowuk territory to deliver social services to Mushkegowuk members and to deal with social related issues and concerns;

WHEREAS Mushkegowuk Council must continually seek to improve the delivery of social services and for the development of culturally appropriate social services to meet the needs of the people of the Mushkegowuk First Nations;

WHEREAS Mushkegowuk Council recognizes the need to ensure that Mushkegowuk First Nations fully participate in this process;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Chiefs and delegates in Assembly directs the office of the Grand Chief to seek resources required to plan and coordinate a regional Social Services conference to discuss social related issues and problems that exist within the Mushkegowuk First Nation communities and to discuss options and to make recommendations to address the social issues and problems more effectively;

FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that the first annual conference be hosted by the Moose Cree First Nation as offered, and, that this conference be targeted for the summer of 2005.
