Youth Grand Chief

WHEREAS it is the express desire and vision of the Youth within the Mushkegowuk Territory to fully participate with the established leadership forums such as the Mushkegowuk Council of Chiefs including their Annual and Special Assemblies; and

WHEREAS the Youth are seeking the support of this Special Assembly to explore the option of a Youth Grand Chief position to fill this capacity and represent the Youth of Mushkegowuk at this level.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that this Special Assembly direct the Grand Chief and the Executive to explore the option of an elected Youth Grand Chief position including the roles and responsibilities, financial implications and the amendment of the Mushkegowuk Election Code 2007 to accommodate this request.

FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that a report with recommendations be presented at the next Annual Assembly.
