Decentralization of Payukotayno Child and Family Services
WHEREAS it is recognized that Payukotayno: James & Hudson Bay Family Services has provided child and family services to the Mushkegowuk communities over the past twenty years;
WHEREAS it is becoming increasingly apparent that only limited success can be achieved through the current regional service delivery process;
WHEREAS it has been determined that a need exists for individual First Nation communities to begin assuming greater responsibility for the lives of their own children and families and for the delivery of related social programs and services;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the Mushkegowuk Chiefs and Delegates in Assembly fully supports the discussions and negotiations for the decentralization of services between Payukotayno: James & Hudson Bay Family Services and the individual First Nations.
