Support for New Hospital in Kashechewan First Nation
WHEREAS Healthcare is a treaty right for Mushkegowuk First Nations and has always been a priority of the Mushkegowuk People; and
WHEREAS there is not a proper hospital facility in Kashechewan First Nation and that community has experienced significant growth; and
WHEREAS a need has been identified on a priority basis for a hospital in Kashechewan First Nation as identified in the Kashechewan Master Plan;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Council 23rd Annual Assembly supports the development of a hospital in Kashechewan First Nation, without prejudice to further hospital development in other Mushkegowuk communities, and calls upon the Crown to provide the necessary resources.
