Reaffirmation of New Regional Hospital in Moose Factory

WHEREAS the Board of the Weeneebayko Health Ahtuskaywin in 2001 by resolution affirmed the location of the new hospital to continue to exist at Moose Factory; and

WHEREAS there has been continued development of plans regarding health services in Mushkegowuk territory; and

WHEREAS healthcare is a treaty right for Mushkegowuk First Nations and has always been a priority of the Mushkegowuk people; and

WHEREAS it is important that healthcare facilities be located on federal lands as part of the continued federal responsibility for healthcare.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Assembly affirms the February 2001 resolution regarding the location of a new regional hospital at Moose Factory.
