Mushkegowuk Community Infrastructure

WHEREAS improving the quality of life and building a healthier Mushkegowuk Nation remains a high priority for the Mushkegowuk First Nations;

WHEREAS the community infrastructure systems in our communities are in very poor condition and contribute to our high rate of illnesses, social problems, suicide, extremely high costs for health care, and poverty;

WHEREAS the homelands of the Omushkegowuk continues to be our lifeline for a healthier life and we need to use our homelands to build a healthier Mushkegowuk Nation;

WHEREAS the Mushkegowuk First Nations need to create regional strategies and collaborate on advancing community infrastructure;

WHEREAS the existing deplorable infrastructure conditions are verified by numerous technical government reports that need to be addressed;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the 25th Annual MAMOHITOWIN of the OMUSHKEGOWUK direct the

Resolution No. 20 I 0-09-04

Mushkegowuk Council to assist in development of 5 Year Community Infrastructure Capital Plans for each of the Mushkegowuk First Nations.
