2011 Mushkegowuk Challenge Cup

WHEREAS the Mamohitowin of the Omushkegowuk support and recognize that sport and recreation foster healthier lifestyles, unity, and personal development;

WHEREAS the Annual Mushkegowuk Challenge Cup is a regional youth event that continues to gather strength and is a strong foundation for the advancement of sport development in the Mushkegowuk Nation;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the 25th Annual Mamohitowin of the Omushkegowuk direct the Mushkegowuk Council to coordinate and deliver the. 4th Annual Mushkegowuk Challenge Cup in Timmins which should include a cultural component and honour youth that are role models in sport, leadership, and community development. A funding strategy to cover the costs of the event must be developed which should include the Mushkegowuk First Nations contributing funds that match or challenge other organizations up to an amount not to exceed $5,000.00.
