Mushkegowuk Youth Programme Funding

WHEREAS the Mushkegowuk Council programmes for the youth in our First Nation communities are critical for their and our cultural and community life and for our future as First Nations people, and for providing hope and opportunities for our youth, particularly in the context of the tragic number of youth suicides in our communities;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mamohitowin of the Omushkego reaffirm the critical role of youth programmes in our Mushkegowuk First Nation communities and strongly support the re-establishment of a Mushkegowuk Council youth department and strongly support the continued invitations to funding partners for assistance in this important investment in the youth of the future.
