Exploring Solutions for the Situations that Result in Community Evacuations

WHEREAS continued provIsIon of services to Mushkegowuk First Nations continue with very limited resources; and

WHEREAS all too often our people are forced to relocate from their homes for long periods of time; and

WHEREAS efforts in the past have not been adequate to resolve the recurring problems leading to the evacuation of our people from their homes;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that this Mamowihitowin of the Omushkegowuk directs the Mushkegowuk Council to explme permanent and long term solutions to the challenges in the affected communities that result in the evacuation of people from their homes including potentially establishing a committee to look at lasting solutions to the causes of the evacuations in our communities.
