RE: Support for Regional Telecommunications Roundtable and Youth IT Forum

WHEREAS Western James Bay Telecom Network (WJBTN) has identified a need to bring regional IT stakeholders and funding agencies together to discuss common concerns and work together towards mutual goals; and

WHEREAS a Regional

Telecommunications Roundtable was held in 2014 with good results; and

WHEREAS WJBTN has identified a need to bring youth and stakeholders together to address how we can work together to address IT service gaps in human capacity and skills; and

WHEREAS WJBTN has identified these skills gaps:

Electronic Service Technician Information Technology Support Analysts Internet Web Page Designers Network Cabling Specialists TV Video Production Specialists Fibre Optic Technician Training Apps Design Cyber Security and Cyberbullying Awareness Workshops

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that this Mamowihitowin supports the efforts of Western James Bay Telecom Network to apply to federal, provincial and First Nations funding agencies to finance this event.
