Contribution Agreement Review

WHEREAS this Mamowihitowin of the Omushkegowuk recognizes that the First nations have consistently signed agreements with Provincial / Federal governments and agencies in which First Nations are often referred to as "Recipient" in such agreements. E.g Contribution Agreements.

WHEREAS these agreements do not reflect our status as a nation in dealing with Provincial/ Federal governments and their agencies; and

WHEREAS we also observe in the Terms and Condition included in such agreements may not also reflect the nation to nation understanding we seek;

BE IT RESOLVED THAT

Mushkegowuk Council Chiefs and delegates request a review of the structure; content and legal implications of the existing contribution agreements and provide feedback on what options for change exists.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that once an option developed is approved; it be shared with any First Nations that

require its utilisation for future agreements with the Province and / or Federal governments.
