Establishment of an Elders Advisory Council

WHEREAS this Mamowihitowin recognizes the need for a regional Elders Advisory Council with members from each of the Mushkegowuk communities; and

WHEREAS the Elders Advisory Council can be a forum where previous AGA resolutions can be discussed and recommendations can be made; and

WHEREAS an Elders Advisory Council will provide an opportunity for elders to set priorities based on discussions of the AGA;

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that a Mushkegowuk Regional Eide.rs Advisory Council be established for the Mushkegowuk Communities; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Elders Advisory Council consist of the Mushkegowuk Regional Elder and one Elder from each community; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Grand Chief meet with the Elders Advisory Council a minimum of three times a year; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the role of the existing Regional Elder be reviewed, and that Terms of Reference be prepared for the Elders Advisory Council.
