2022 Mushkegowuk Challenge Cup

WHEREAS, the Mamowihitowin of the Omushkegowuk support and recognize that sport and recreation foster healthier lifestyles, unity, and personal development;

WHEREAS, the Annual Mushkegowuk Challenge Cup is a regional youth event that continues to gather strength and is a strong foundation for the advancement of sport development in the Mushkegowuk Nation;

WHEREAS, the participants have responded positively to the 13th Annual Mushkegowuk Cup and have expressed their anticipation to the 14th annual Mushkegowuk Cup;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the 35th Annual Mamowihitowin of the Omushkegowuk direct the Mushkegowuk Council to coordinate and deliver the 14th Annual Mushkegowuk Challenge Cup in Timmins which should include a cultural component and honor youth in sport, leadership, and community development. A funding strategy to cover the costs of the event must be developed which should include the Mushkegowuk First Nations contributing funds that match or challenge other organizations up to an amount not to exceed $5,000.00
