Demographic Profile Project

WHEREAS the last demographic profile of the Mushkegowuk communities was in 2011-12, in partnership with Mushkegowuk Employment and Training department and the Far Northeast Training board; and

WHEREAS there have been many changes since then and we recognize the need to do another profile with added partners Wakenagun CFDC and Mushkegowuk Development Corporation; and

WHEREAS having local demographic and labour market information enables communities to use their individual community profiles and develop their economic and human resources needs; and

WHEREAS we believe this project would benefit each community as it would provide up­to-date community profiles for use as "evidence" for policy and program development and therefore program funding;

WHEREAS Moose Cree Training & Employment Unit, representing Moose Cree First Nation will proceed to partner and carry out their own Demographic Profile project with Far North East Training Board;

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that to improve the level of services, this Mamowihitowin of the Omushkegowuk directs the Mushkegowuk Employment and Training Services department (METs) to undergo a community demographic profile.
