RESOLUTION NO. 1992-13
Subject: Peawanuck Nursing Person Year
WHEREAS the community of Peawanuck located on the Hudson Bay Coast and is 350 miles from the Moose Factory Zone Hospital;
AND WHEREAS the community members of Peawanuck are only visited every two months by a family medicine physician;
AND WHEREAS the community of Peawanuck has a Nursing Station staffed by only one Community Health RepresentaÂtive;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that National Health and Welfare Canada through the Medical Services Branch provide the Weenusk First Nation with the necessary resources to hire a full-time Nurse;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Council provide the necessary political support to lobby for the position.
