RESOLUTION NO. 1993-19

Subject: Lands and Resources Secretariat

WHEREAS the Mushkegowuk First Nations require technical resources to assist in their work toward self-government;

AND WHEREAS a lands and resources structure would assist in meeting that need;

AND WHEREAS a senior civil servant, Mr. Bill Taylor, within the Ontario Native Affairs Secretariat has expressed an interest in working for the Mushkegowuk cornrnunities on a secondment basis;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the 8th Annual Assembly supports the creation and staffing of a Lands and Resources Secretariat;

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the staff of the Mushkegowuk Council be mandated to develop the Lands and Resources Secretariat;

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Chiefs or its designate interview and accept/reject the secondment offer of Mr. Bill Taylor.
