RESOLUTION NO. 1997-08-03
SUBJECT: NEW POST CREE STUDIES PROGRAM
WHEREAS the New Post First Nation has identified a need to develop a Cree studies program that recognizes and teaches the uniqueness of our Cree culture yet recogmzmg and encompassing the present and future needs of our communities;
WHEREAS the New Post First Nation seeks to include all Mushkegowuk First Nations at the grass roots level in the development of a curriculum for a Cree Studies Program;
WHEREAS the New Post First Nation has initiated the process of having this program accredited through a recognized educational institution;
WHEREAS the New Post First Nation has a target date of March 1, 1998 to complete the program proposal;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Mushkegowuk First Nations fully support the New Post First Nation in their efforts for the development and implementation of a Cree Studies Program;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Council work cooperatively with the New Post First Nation in developing the Cree Studies Program.
