Support for Kashechewan Power Authority to Acquire Power Distribution System From Hydro One

RESOLUTION NO. 2000-08-06

SUPPORT FOR KASHECHEWAN POWER AUTHORITY TO ACQUIRE POWER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM FROM HYDRO ONE

WHEREAS Kashechewan Power Authority is in control of diesel power services to its membership residing in Kashechewan First Nation; and

WHEREAS this control was asswned by Kashechewan Power Authority when it purchased the diesel generating station; and

WHEREAS the opinion of Hydro One is that they have not sold its distribution system, namely the hydro poles and wires, to the Kashechewan Power Authority; and

WHEREAS Hydro One is rece1vmg compensation from Bell Canada for the use of the distribution system; and

WHEREAS Hydro One has not been maintaining and repairing the power dish·ibution system in Kashechewan First Nation;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Hydro One transfer ownership of its power distribution system in Kashechewan First Nation, including Bell Canada revenue rights, to the Kashechewan Power Authority so as to

allow proper maintenance and repairs and to allow Kashechewan Power Authority to provide the necessary service to the conunw1ity.
