RESOLUTION NO. 2000-08-24
YOUTH RECREATION FACILITIES IN KASHECHEWAN
WHEREAS the need for holistic youth programming exists within the Mushkegowuk TeITitory and physical recreational activities do not exist for many youth in Kashechewan First Nation; and
WHEREAS the Kashechewan First Nation recognizes this need and is requesting support in seeking funds for establishing a basketball facility to provide recreational activities for the youth of their community and to help alleviate the boredom felt by youth and provide an alternative to non-productive and destructive activities;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Mushkegowuk Chiefs in Assembly fully support Kashechewan First Nation in its initiative to seek funding to construct a basketball facility and that Mushkegowuk Youth Department staff assist Kashechewan First Nation in developing a funding proposal for this purpose.
