Youth Department Support to the Mushkegowuk Youth and Elders; Strengthening the Relationship Initiative

WHEREAS the Mushkegowuk Chiefs in Assembly have a mandate to support its youth initiatives; and support the newest development of the "Mushkegowuk Youth and Elders: Strengthening the Relationship Initiative", and

WHEREAS many First Nations in Mushkegowuk Territory have committed their support to youth initiatives offered through the Youth Department that enhance and empower Mushkegowuk Youth in youth personal development and youth leadership; and

WHEREAS the Youth Department works to meet the needs of the Mushkegowuk Youth and to fulfill the requests and direction of the Regional Youth Council through the creation of new developments.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Chiefs in Assembly support the proposal submitted to the Ontario Trillium Foundation and to encourage all Mushkegowuk First Nations to ensure the participation of Youth and Elders and communities in strengthening the relationship.
