Support for Regional Training Centre
WHEREAS there continues to be a substantial need for the education, training and development of local human resources in all fields of interest to improve the quality of life and support local economies within Mushkegowuk First Nation communities; and
WHEREAS there is a need for upgrading of academic and training skills currently existing within our First Nation communities; and
WHEREAS there is a need to determine the current levels of academic and training skills to identify what is lacking among our local human resources in various fields of interest; and
WHEREAS these needs may be addressed through a Regional Training Centre in partnership between the following parties, Omushkego Education, Mushkegowuk Employment and Training Services and Northern College of Applied Arts.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Chiefs in Assembly direct Omushkego Education to investigate and explore viable options of such a partnership for the purpose of establishing a Regional Training Centre for the communities of Mushkegowuk.
