Appointment of Community Economic Development Officers to Pasico

WHEREAS Pasico Development Corporation (Pasico) is a corporation authorized by Mushkegowuk Council to work for the economic development of the communities of Mushkegowuk; and

WHEREAS Pasico is governed by a board of directors; and

WHEREAS there may be advantages to both . Pasico and to individual Mushkegowuk First Nations if First Nations' Economic Development Officers were appointed to serve as Board members of Pasico, in the form of sharing of knowledge of needs and experience, and better reporting to Chief and Council of Pasico work, and in cost saving for meeting procedures.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the member First Nations of Mushkegowuk Council consider appointing their Economic Development Officers to sit on the Pasico Board of Directors, and if appropriate, to make such appointments immediately, and that Pasico representatives be encouraged to discuss such possibilities with Economic Development Officers as appropriate.
