Chiefs' Letters of Support for Continuation of Youth Program Funding·

WHEREAS the Ontario Trillium Foundation and the. Aboriginal Healing Foundation has in the past provided valuable funding for programs for youth in the communities of the Mushkegowuk First Nations; and

WHEREAS youth programs in Mushkegowuk First Nation territory, such as Youth and Elders gatherings, Spiritual Health programs and the Regional Youth Council, have helped develop future Mushkegowuk leadership through increased confidence, leadership experience and increased hope for the future; and

WHEREAS existing funding from both the Ontario Trillium Foundation and the Aboriginal Healing Foundation is due to expire in 201O;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mushkegowuk Chiefs be invited to provide letters of support for the funding applications to the Ontario Trillium Foundation and the Aboriginal Healing Foundation, to express appreciation for the past funding of Mushkegowuk Youth programs, and to express the

importance of such youth program funding to the development of Mushkegowuk youth and the future health of Mushkegowuk communities.
