Cree Culture
WHEREAS First Nation Education is both an inherent Aboriginal and Treaty Right; and
WHEREAS the Mushkegowuk Nation views First Nation Education as an investment in the future of the youth and ultimately the future of our Nation; and
WHEREAS the Mushkegowuk community members have expressed an interest in the research, development and implementation of a Cree Curriculum regarding the Cree Culture and Traditions; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Chiefs and delegates in Assembly mandate the Grand Chief and Mushkegowuk Council to work toward the inclusion of the Cree culture and traditions in the school curriculum in Mushkegowuk First Nation schools in collaboration with the First Nation Education Authorities; and
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that each of the Mushkegowuk Chiefs continue to support Cree culture and traditions in the school curriculum with their respective Education Authorities; and

FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that the Grand Chief and Mushkegowuk Council continue to explore potential funding sources from the Governments of Canada and Ontario, First Nation organizations and other private funding agencies.
