Traffic Safety in Mushkegowuk First Nations
WHEREAS the protection and safety of our children is a priority for the Omushkegowuk; and
WHEREAS all members of Mushkegowuk First Nations desire to live in safe communities; and
WHEREAS there have been a number of tragic incidents in the past year in Mushkegowuk First Nations involving unsafe driving practices;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that this Mamowihitowin of the Omushkegowuk encourage all Mushkegowuk First Nations to examine how road and traffic safety can be improved in their respective communities; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Office of the Grand Chief begin a discussion with the Nishnawbe Aski Police Services and other parties to develop options or strategies to improve road and traffic safety in Mushkegowuk First Nations.
