Annual CreeFest 2012

Resolution No. 2011-09-33

WHEREAS the Omushkegowuk support and recognize the importance and many benefits of conducting the annual CreeFest event; and

WHEREAS we the Omushkegowuk have always recognized the critical importance of the preservation and practice of our culture and our spiritual beliefs; and

WHEREAS it is the objective of CreeFest to preserve and promote our culture and traditional practices; and

WHEREAS the Omushkegowuk deem it critical to continue encouraging the participation of Omushkegowuk Youth in regional events that educate and promote our culture and spiritual beliefs;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the 2012 10th Anniversary CreeFest event be hosted by the community of Moose Factory in conjunction with Moose Cree First Nation's Annual "Gathering of Our People" 2012 event; and

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the directive be given to the Mushkegowuk Council to organize a CreeFest 2012 Planning Committee to plan and budget events to make it another successful event.
